I have been researching different barrels for the Shield 9mm and Shield 45. I have the full size M&P 45 threaded barrel kit and I have the Silencerco threaded barrel for the Shield 1.0. I am thinking of getting the Lone Wolf threaded barrel for my Shield 45. I recently went back to Brownell's and reviewed the Sliencerco threaded barrel for the Shield 9mm and in the question comments Brownell's was asked if the barrel will fit the Shield 2.0 and they replied NO! I have read that the barrels are the same for the Shield 1.0 and the 2.0 so this doesn't make sense to me. I have also read on this forum that the Shield 45 1.0 is the same as the 2.0 but it wasn't marked 2.0 upon release and only lacks the 2.0 mark on the slide so I assume that the Lone Wolf barrel for the Shield 45 will fit either versions? Now I have found another threaded barrel for the Shield and it is advertised as a S&W barrel that will fit " barrels for all generations/permutations of the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm pistols." It is in the Silencershop and the SK # is TT SHIELD BARREL. So why would this barrel fit all generations of the Shield but the Silencerco barrel will only fit the Shield 1.0? I'm confused!!!!

I have an original 6yo Shield and have found that later model 1.0 'replacement' barrels will not work in mine. They are too wide to lock up (so much so, that I thought they sent me a 40/9 conversion by mistake). Somewhere along the line, before the 2.0 came out, the breech width changed.

This might be why they are hesitant to 'blindly' confirm that it would work in Every Shield.

Now that is a new one, incompatibility within the original Shield 9mm barrels. I wonder if the part numbers are the same for the Shield 2.0 barrels and the Shield 1.0 barrels.

Now, I don't remember who the maker was that I got the 'Replacement Barrel' from. I'd need to search... It wasn't from S&W.

The barrel on the Left is the Factory Barrel and the one on the Right is the Aftermarket Barrel that they said 'worked in other people's Shields'.

Perhaps a forum search for 'aftermarket Shield Barrel' (linked with my name) will bring up the thread.

Edited to Add:
Found it: Shield Conversion Barrel TR Enabling was the company I tried.
