I was just searching for an extra magazine or 2 for my Shield 2.0 40 and discovered that the Shield and Shield 2.0 magazines have different part numbers. What is the difference?

Reason: spelling correction
Look the same to me other than finger rest texture
That must be it. I just got my 2.0 out and that extended base pad feels like a wood rasp. I was going to order a couple extras but after handling it I changed my mind. Just ordered 3 of the 6 round mags. Thanks much jbtrucker.
Take some real fine sand paper and just knock the bite of the texture. I agree the 2.0 texture is fine to shoot but I can see where carrying might be a bit abrasive let's say. My wife and daughter both have new 2.0 Shields and the wife is fine but my daughter wasn't fond of how rough the grip was so we put Talon Grips soft rubber on it. She loves it now. I could only find the older 8 round mags locally so I took the smoother extensions and put them on my daughter's and the newer 2.0 extensions on my wife's. They're both happy.

So the 1.0 magazines do fit the newer 2.0 model and vice versa?

PRICE
eBay and other sites $10-$15.00 higher because of the part number.
My 1.0 mags fit my 2.0 the same.
I use Talon grips on the 8 rounder so it doesn't matter.

I looked into this when PSA was selling 5 magazines & 5 boxes of Fiochi for $99 & the magazines they sold where the 1.0 = less texture on the sleeve
on the 8 round magazines..
They are exactly the same other than the texture on the sleeve..
At least the 9mm & 40 S&W magazines anyhow..
I know nothing about the 45acp Shield..
Picked up a .380acp Shield 2.0 EZ last week & it's a totally different animal = internal hammer not striker fired like our other Shield..
