Got my BG,380 back
Five months she's been at the mothership still not fixed right on five different occasions customer service had been making excuses, twice there supervisor was to call me back none did .They charge my gunsmith $148.00 in order to get it returned to him,as I said the laser wasn't fixed and they claimed they did a bunch of work NONE marked on the receipt Sooo I call customer service and explained what happened after listening to the music for 40 minutes he said his supervisor will call me back, but he never did I'm going to try again tomorrow.

I bought 2 BG 380 from Cabelas at the same time. BOTH were defective and had to be returned. Not a good sign of quality when BOTH guns are defective. You pull the trigger, hammer goes back but does not release. Both guns have been sent back to S & W for repair. Not interested in buying any more S & W if this is what you get.

Fortunately mine works fine, but after 150 rounds, I have to tap the rear roll pin back in with a punch.
Never had to do that with any other guns, just the Bodyguards .
(and I've owned 3 of them over the years)

I have tried to like the BG380. It has features I want and it is a nice looking little gun. It would be perfect for me - if I could get one that worked. (I’ve owned three. ALL have been totally useless.) I’ve returned one of them for repairs and it was returned to me more unreliable than when I sent it. I wish I had never seen these silly things. I guess I was a victim of my own optimistic nature and misguided confidence in S&W to be able to manufacture something as simple as a little pocket .380 that actually works. Keltec seems to be able to do it, for about half the price.

The Smith & Wesson "mothership" left this planet a long time ago. I'm not sure when, but it's gone. Apparently taking the good customer service along with it.

Just got my BG380 back form S&W after almost exactly 6 weeks. They told me up front it was 4 to 6 weeks.....so no problem with the timing. I received the gun back with a list of what they did....and one of the items I didn’t understand, so I called them back to inquire what the repair/replacement was.....and unfortunately nobody seems to be able to answer that for me.
Aside from that, it was a good experience.

Had a BG380 a couple years back. Shot fine, but I did not like it so sold it within a month. No regrets.
