I acquired this M&P 45 in a trade with a local shop I have done a lot of business with over the years. I went to pick up a Gunbroker purchase transfer and I noticed they had several of the M&P 45 models in stock. This one has TRUGLO sights and the prices was $719, the suggested retail on the S&W home page.
I mentioned that I had a lot of extra factory 223 and 45 would they be interested in trading ammo for the gun.
Some of this ammo was 20 years old still in factory shipping master carton. I ended up giving them 2000 223 and 500 45 for the gun. I had purchased all at very good sale prices years ago.
I still have enough to last me for a long time.
The S&W model number is 11769.

Nice looking pistol. I have the first version and the stock trigger was terrible but put the Apex in it and some night sights and it has never failed my in the last 6 years or so and a few thousand rounds. If it is like the Shield the 2.0 trigger should be better than the original.

Glad to see one of those out there. That is my next 45 ACP handgun, SKU 11769, if I am correct? I cannot even back order one here any more. Ammo for guns. That is an idea. I would not miss a few thousand rounds from cheaper days.

I bought one in Black, took it apart and Cerakoted it in S&W tan.
While it was apart it got an Apex trigger and Duty Carry kit, and Tru-Glo sights.
Great pistol, now it's identical to my 9mm except for the barrel length.

If you are thinking about putting an apex in, be cognizant the 2.0s don't have the adjustability of the 1.0s. A standard apex duty kit will clean up the pull, but the 2nd stage could break to the very very back of the stroke. I had this happen with a 2.0 9mm compact and it broke too far to the rear of the stroke for my taste and I typically like mine breaking more to the rear than to the front. Ended up putting a forward set apex kit in to mimic what my 1.0s do with a standard apex kit. With the 1.0 you could tweak where the 2nd stage breaks some by adjusting the trigger loop, not so with the 2.0. It is what it is.

Picked up the compact model a few months back, really had to talk myself into paying $399.00 for it. Did i get a good deal?

Nice pick up. I want one. I think I would have sold the ammo locally and pocketed the profit after buying the gun... Around here, a case of 5.56 is going for $700+ but I live in the People's Republik of Virginia.
