Snatched up a hard to find M&P 2.0 Metal while visited some local gun stores yesterday. Lubed it up and got to the range today for its first outing. Warmed up with 150 rounds of S&B 124 FMJ, followed by 17 rounds of Federal HST 147 and 17 rounds of Federal Hydrashok Deep ( my current 9mm carry load). All ran flawlessly andI was able to keep groups in the 3-4” range at 10 yards which is pretty good for me. POI was about 3” to the right of POA. I looked at the rear sight and saw that it was not centered. No big deal, thought I would fix that when I got home. Later at home I got out the punches and went to loosen the set screw. Surprise, NO SET ScREW! Called S&W and they said they would send one out to me. Pretty short call - no sorry about that, hard to believe, etc., just OK we’ll send you one. Makes me wonder how many similar calls they received.
Bottom line is I like the pistol. The ergonomics are great and I’m a fan of the 2.0 flat face trigger. A little take up then a clean break with a fast reset. Grip did twist a bit on rapid fire strings — I’m going to to try the large grip insert on next trip. I know many are questioning the added value of the aluminum frame but I like it. The Titanium color is pretty cool, too. Too each their own.
