Will Compact magazines fit and work in a Shield 9/40/45?

Or, is there a carry reliable 10 round magazine for the Shields 9/40/45.

I have researched this in the past and the answer was no, but wondering if something had changed.

Thanks! Not interested in any adaptedextensionsas I have been there, done that, got the pictures and the T-shirt and had failures that would prove unreliabbe for carry

The short answer is no, the M&P Compact magazines will not fit and work in the Shield. If you want to increase capacity in the Shield the only option that I know of is the use if one of the many available magazine extensions which you said you are not interested in. I have had good luck with the MagGuts extensions.

No. Shield is a single stack, M&P c is a staggered double stack.

Like the other said The compact is a double stack, shield is single. Options are mag extensions.
Strike industries
hyve Technologies
Tyrant Designs
taylor Freelance.

Check them out.

A 10 round extension or magazine is going to increase the grip length of your gun enough to make it noticeably harder to conceal than one of the small double stack pistols like the P365 or Hellcat. Not an issue if you are carrying it as a spare or plan to use it only at home.

My only experience with extensions has been with my Glock 43. Like you I tried a few different ones that everyone on the internet said worked flawlessly but had issues when I tried them. The best I found was a +1 that would sometimes have the slide ride over the extra round instead of chambering it but never caused a failure in the first 6. The stock factory magazines always worked. Things could be different with Shield magazines but my results soured me on extensions in general.

Nobody mentioned the ProMag 10 round Shield magazines and for good reason. If you run across these while looking for more capacity keep looking if you want something reliable.

Thanks folks I really appreciate your input.

Just a wild hair in my butt that I had to get out,,,,lol!

Oh, well I will have to just carry more magazines as backups and be satisfied with that.

Again, I truly thank you all!

I have a strike extension on my shield and my compact. Cheaper than the hyve and work perfect.
