Hello, Newish M&P owner. Really like my 9mm EZ and now my 9mm 2.0. Took both to the range last weekend to practice and to see the difference between the two. I've put 400-500 rds through each now.

I've upgraded the trigger in the 2.0 with an Apex. It's butter with a side of walnut crack'in. I love the break and reset of this. Very intuitive to shoot and I now understand trigger control.

The EZ by comparison is mushy. I had multiple dead fire's with it last weekend due to either not resetting the trigger (releasing it out far enough) or an actual trigger issue.

I like the Apex so much, was wondering if anyone made an upgrade for the 9 EZ?

Thanks - HD

I have owned (and own) multiple series 1.0 MP’s, a PC Shield and an EZ Shield all in 9mm. All have been stock, never have been one to change out triggers (just my .02) and have been fine with them all. That said, my PC was a little better/different than the std MP’s and i feel the EZ is actually the nicest for me in the bunch. I wouldn't change a thing on the EZ.
Adding I also dont ride the reset when shooting (again only my .02) so couldn't even say if changing an EZ trigger matters in that area.

As with any mod, guess if its something wanted then go for it. Especially if you already changed out one and like that feel. I assume the mechanics of the EZ dont affect a trigger swap.

M&P and EZ Upgrades

I own an M&P 2.0 Compact and a 4.25". Triggers seem to be quite subjective but, for me, the 2 piece trigger is horrid. Also my trigger on the compact was quite gritty. I put an Apex Carry Trigger into Compact and a Forward set trigger into the 4.25 inch. An incredible improvement. If there was no trigger upgrade available, I would not own an M&P.

EZ - I selected the EZ for an easy to conceal EDC. My minimum barrel length is 3.6" that was one reason. But, I like the EZ as well. I did customize an M&P Wilson rear Battlesight to fit the EZ and added a matching green fiber optic front. I also replaced the extreme curved trigger with a Rainer Short Stroke Trigger form Galloway Precision. The EZ trigger shape was uncomfortable when shooting. Smith and Wesson makes great guns but they can be improved. Not everyone wants the improvements but for those that do, it makes a big difference. The 9mm EZ is a great idea. Not the easiest gun to disassemble for the trigger upgrade but doable.
