Any one do this?

I love the gun (apart from not being able to get any 13 round mags), but don't love the rough texture. To me, it can interfere with a fast acquisition from my IWB holster, as the friction interferes with my thumb pushing down into position as I go for the grip. With my Glock 19, my thumb easily slips down into proper position for the grip in preparation for the draw. I'd like to smooth the texture on the Plus down. All I really need is a rough texture on the front and back straps.

Enjoy the new blaster. With a verified unloaded pistol, try the following. To ease the texture, get a fine sandpaper, get a 1/2" dowel or expended 12ga shell hull, wrap the sandpaper around the dowel/shell and carefully sand down areas that bother you. Check frequently on holstering etc and quit when it feels right.

Good luck

Consider Talon Rubber grip covers. They are easy to install, long lasting (mine has been on my Shield 9 for over five years), and have a "just right" texture -- not too rough, and not too slick. They cost around $20, but to me that is worth it to avoid the possibility of "oversanding" the grip.

Thanks. I think I will do just that.

Those, in my opinion, can peel off at the worst possible time and interfere with function.

I do, not only on M&Ps... I like aggressive texture on the back and front of the grip and almost no texture at all at the spot where fingertips are touching the grip.
Sand paper work the best, as B0308 mentioned.
Just be careful with it and be patient. Once you flatten it to much, there is no coming back.
