I bought a 9mm M&P Shield. It is the model with a manual safety.
I had a stroke some years back and my left hand is weak. I find it almost impossible to rack this pistol. I'm considering selling it locally and buying a Shield EZ. The pistol is still unfired and has the box and all the stuff that comes with it.

What price should I put on it? I don't remember what I paid for it,
It wasn't very expensive I think.

If I sell it will be locally FTF.

Thanks.

What is SKU number on the box?
This will tell us the exact model to give you proper value.

See what MSRP is for yours, Ask the LGS what they would give you in trade, then sell it yourself for Mid way between those two prices.

There was a period when S&W offered rebates and dealers were selling them for crazy low prices. I paid as little as $195 out the door (net of the rebate).

Now that there’s a Shield 2.0 and a Shield Plus, I think you can only expect $250 to $300. I just saw the Shield 2.0 priced at $429, and that’s new. Your Shield is certainly not an obsolete gun, just a lot of competition out there.

My Shield 1.0 is invaluable! It's well made. Never fails. Eats everything I feed it. Is comfortable to carry and shoot...Accurate. Paid too much for it too prior to all the sales and rebates... Don't care. It works and it's what I'm banking on to save my life should the need (God forbid) arrive and there's no way I'd trade it for what a dealer would give me for it. I'm of the opinion "it is what it is" and nothing out there will do the job better...except for a few more rounds perhaps. In my not so humble opinion keep it and use it. In this market you'll never get what it's truly worth to you.

IIRC I paid ~$249 for my 1.0 Shield new when they were blowing them out a couple years ago. I took $300 cash for it in a private party sale a couple weeks ago.

Values are up due to the current market, but IMHO $300+/- is a good private party value for a 1.0 in nice condition. 2.0s should bring a little more.

Thanks for the info. I'm really waffling on this. It fits my hand perfectly
and I like everything about it. I can rack it by putting it in my left hand, but then I can't work the slide stop. Oh well.
I have seen gadgets that attach to the rear of the slide for people with hand strength issues. I don't know if they make one for the Shield.

The EZ has a different grip than the one on your Shield. I find it very comfortable but just know the two are not the same.
Also, buy the 9mm EZ, not the 380.

I have 2 of the 1.0 Shields in 9mm. Thankfully I don’t have any issues with hand/wrist strength for racking the slides. I only bought the second one a few years ago because it was less than $250 out the door.
