So if I was going to get myself a new CCW pistola, wouldn't a new M&P 9c with the Thumb Safety be the same as a 6006/6904/6953 with a polymer frame?

I guess the M&P would be lighter?

I think they are both 28 ounces but that is easily verified.
I like the metal frame guns, I would get a 6906.

I actually already have a couple of 6906s. The thought process I am going through is trying to decide which M&P I want.

I am planning on getting one of the M&P $399 deals with rebate for 2 free mags from Buds. I just can't decide on the 9 or 40.

Or should get an M&P Compact?

I just went on Buds. They list the M&P for $524.
Where are you seeing $399?
