Are M&P Shield and Shield Plus Barrels interchangeable?

I just purchased the Shield Plus (9mm) and would like to drop a threaded barrel in it. All the barrel manufacturers list barrels for the Shield but not the Plus. (One did but was sold out) So, will a barrel for a Shield fit a Shield Plus?

Heard back from Smith & Wesson on barrel swapping

Smith & Wesson replied to my above question as follows:
"There is no ability to make conversions among our firearms. The barrel on both platforms are different".
So.... there is the definitive answer straight from S&W. If it doesn't say the specific model on the barrel it wont fit.
 
I would check with the barrel manufactures before you give up. S&W likely says that due to liability.

The 5" barrel from my CORE and 4.25" from my full will fit in my 1.0 Compact. The locking block is the same as are the locking lugs on the barrels. The Shield is different (a bit narrower) so they don't fit.

One of the replies here suggested it just might be S&W covering their liability. So, also as suggested I contacted Faxon Arms. They advised that their threaded barrel for the Shield does fit all models of the Shield, including the Plus, but only in the 3.1 inch. They aren't making the 4" yet . In their testing they have found no difference in the barrels between models of the Shield.
So, I ordered one... and we'll see if it goes "Pffft..." or "KA-BOOM Ouch that hurts!" I'll post the results when it arrives.
