ETS magazines through the M&P 2.0 pistols?

I recently purchased the M&P Compact 2.0 in 9mm. It comes with 2 factory magazines. Factory ones purchased separately are expensive.

ETS mags make magazines for the M&P 9mm. They are 17, 21, and 30 round mags. I don't recall if they make 40 round ones. I know even the 17 round ones will stick out the magwell a little because it was made for the full-sized model rather than the compact model.

Has anyone had experiences with these mags through the 2.0 M&P series? How do they run with defensive or flat-nose ammo? How do they run with round-nose ball ammo?

If your experience has not been good, when were the ETS mags purchased? I ask because it is possible they made changes to them over time and maybe the newer ones run well but not the older ones.

If someone ran the 17 round ETS mags through the M&P Compact, how far out of the magwell does it protrude? Is it annoying?

Thanks.

The ETS magazines protrude about 1.5" from the compact grip. Looks a bit odd but not annoying - especially if the extra rounds were really needed. ;0

The ETZ|S magazines generally work fine. I would be inclined to buy ACT brand (about $19.00) and a grip spacer or scrounge about for LE turn in or used factory.

The ETS mags I had for my no gone Glock 43 ran fine. The ETS mags I have for my Sig 320 are ****- simply don’t work.

So it’s a gamble IMO if they work in the M&P series. I hope they do

If the ones for the Sig have not been bought in recent times, send them back to ETS for replacement ones. They may have made subtle changes to those mags. Another idea is to send them back to ETS and request ETS mags for another firearm you own.

The stock mags for the compact (not the subcompact) protrude a little from the grip. I just looked about a third of an inch. I guess that means the ETS mag will protrude at least an inch further than the stock compact mag.

I didn't know ACT mags made magazines for the M&P. I'll need to check it out.

I’ve had enough problems with all ETS products, loaders and mags, that I don’t bother with them any more. I’ve sent stuff back, received replacements; no better.

In the grand scheme of all things financial and considering that using warranties, mailing back and forth, frustrations with hit or miss quality in products, time wasted messing with junk—I now just suck it up and buy first quality accessories. Buy quality once, cry just once. A year down the road I really don’t miss the extra $15 or $20.

They don’t work. I have tried them in several different models of different brands and they just don’t work! I would say stay oem especially for the S&W brand.

This is one of the reasons that our polymer guns are all brand G!

We need to lead a "peaceful protest" on Magpul and demand that they begin making mags for M&Ps.

I acquired the impression they are the most popular mags outside of OEM for Glocks.
They would be good mags and they would sell a trillion of them

There must be some calculated reason they don't. Maybe some financial or intimidation de-motivators from S&W or something.

I have a couple of the ETS 30’ish round M&P magazines. They worked the one time I took them to the range. They seem kinda flimsy and likely to break if dropped a few times on a hard surface. I’m not buying anymore.

I just ordered some ACT mags, which may be the same mags as Mec-Gar mags in general, which in turn may be OEM for S&W. Not sure.

Interesting. Could be.

I think they'll replace it if it breaks.

I'm guessing you ran ball ammo though them. I wonder how they would work with flat nose or hollow point. OTOH, ball ammo would be ok for suppression fire if SHTF.

I only have until July 1st.

Sorry you have to contend with that.
