Please see post #8 below for a response from CrossBreed.

Howdy ladies and gents,

My LLC runs private security for church events and weddings. We're also EDC Texans. When the Shield Plus came out, I tried it and love it. The new flat trigger is a real improvement, I never liked the swinging trigger foot much. So I put all our Shield 2.0s in a safe and replaced them with the Plus. Our ladies carry the Plus all the time. For the men, we carry the Plus when we have to wear suit and tie.

We also switched to CrossBreed Rogue System AIWB holsters when we switched to the Shield Plus. We use Tier1 Concealed Axis Elite AIWB holsters for duty size M&P weapons, but T1C was late to market with an AIWB holster for the Shield Plus, and they still only have the 3.1" barrel Plus. So we tried the CrossBreed Rogue System last year and stuck with it. The CrossBreed costs about half, which does not hurt when buying a bunch of holsters at once.

After a year or so of running CrossBreed Rogue holsters, we have had no holster failures. One T1C mag holder failed and they sent me a new one in four days. Both companies have excellent service. I'll go out on a limb now and say that T1C spends more time developing a holster, charges more, fits less weapons but is a better holster overall. CrossBreed comes to market faster for more new weapons, costs less, but their holster isn't quite as well radiused. The first one I bought was not built for my specific weapon, but it was mostly my fault.

CrossBreed will get a holster out soon for new models, but make sure it exactly fits your weapon. Ask them for pictures of your model gun in their holster before you order. The Rogue System is now only about $80 which is a smokin' deal. The T1C Axis Elite will set you back about $140 plus a $20 comfort Wedge Pack (highly recommended and can be used on any AIWB Kydex holster).

I wrote CrossBreed about the initial fit issue ( see their response below in post #8). They have good customer service and always answer. Annotated pics below and in post #9.

PS: We used to run Alien Gear but had repeated Kydex cracking, and they never seem to have improved their holster, just sent me a new shells over and over.

You will get fat someday & not be able to carry your pistols AIWB
It happens to ALL of us old guys & gals

Either way the longer slide pistol is worse to carry up front there
The much shorter 3.1" is a better IWB handgun than the 4"

Here is my Crossbreed Mini Tuck for the 3.1" M&P Shield

Why do you all have to use the same holster?

We don't, but as the top dog I get to choose the standard equipment. Standard pistols and mags are required, for interchangeability. No race triggers or mods, in case of a lawsuit.

Uncle Mike's are not allowed, lol. That said, some of the nylon rigs from smaller companies such as Active Pro Gear are quite innovative. But most wear out quickly.

BTDT, lost 150 lbs by quitting sugar and most carbs. There are guys on themtube claiming to run AIWB with a belly, but it seems that would be very uncomfortable.

If I lost 150 Pounds, I would only weigh 80... = 1978 weight
I have had type 1 diabetes for 45 years
I can't lose five pounds & have tried
Take too much/many insulins for that to happen
The hernia from 1998 is also a problem

Good Luck with your Holster adventure TOP DOG :D RenoHuskerDu & LLC/business running security for church events & weddings, seriously good luck

We have a diabetic family at our church and I'm aware of their struggles and the cost of medical care, which is nuts unless it's covered by health insurance. i was shocked at price of insulin recently. I pray that you don't have difficulties as they do. Someday I hope a cure for Type 1 will be found. I hope we don't get in trouble for going OT... The mom in that family carries a Smith.

Update:
CrossBreed replied within a day, as always, and stated that the holster I received is in fact for a 3.1" Shield Plus. They looked up my order from last year. When I ordered it, I didn't see a listing for Performance Center 4" so I called them on the phone and was assured that it would fit. My bad, I should have been more insistent that it be an exact fit for my gun. Their bad, I don't think it was a good recommendation to make.

At this time CrossBreed does offer a Rogue for the 4" pistol, and I just ordered one to try it. I'll post again with pics of how it fits. Update, see next post!

Regarding the reduced radiusing on their holster when compared to a Tier1 C, they did not respond. My thinking is that for half price off a T1C, you will have to live with some compromises. And again, no CrossBreed holster has broken on us yet. One T1C mag holder cracked partially and three Alien Gear cracked clear thru, reducing weapon retention to nearly zero. We no longer carry Alien Gear holsters.

OK guys I gotta eat my words. Crossbreed sent me a holster for my Plus PC 4" that fits like a glove. It's not clear why they didn't suggest that for me a year ago. Water under the bridge.

Crossbreed's Rogue is still the best value out there for AIWB. I only only tried it that way myself, but it can also be worn 4 o'clock IWB or even OWB. I've been wearing it AIWB for a few days now, no discomfort, before I posted this.

Now I'll edit my initial post too.

I'm afraid that Headknocker is correct, at least in my case. Even though I have only put on a few pounds around my middle since I retired, my CrossBreed AIWB holster becomes uncomfortable if I'm driving or sitting. I get poked down low by the barrel and in the gut ("spare tire") with the sweat shield. At the moment I'm OK with the AIWB if I'm walking around, and with a Sticky Holster in my pocket for other occasions, but eventually I'll have to get a different IWB or an OWB holster for my PC Shield Plus 9 with 3.1" bbl.
