Who makes plates in either aluminum or steel to replace the factory plastic ones?

10mm 4.6 M&P

Fastfire III or Swampfox Justice. Same pattern I believe.

I had contacted C&H last month, and their Customer Service responded that this was the correct plate for my M&P 10mm and my Holosun optic. My son manages several gun stores and C&H are the plates they highly recommend to customers.

S&W M2.0™ C.O.R.E. to Trijicon RMR / SRO / Holosun 407C / 507C / 508C / 508T - C&H Precision Weapons

I have that plate for my 10mm, and just got in a second for my 9mm 2.0, and it's not the same as before.

They changed the way they machine it as you can see in the photo on their site. It would not fit flush in the milled pocket.

They used to come with 2 holes that would fit over the two recoil lugs on the M&P mounting surface. Now they just mill a grove in it.

Here is a pic of the way they mill it now just putting an elongated grove in it. It's now not milled deep enough to fit over the two recoil lugs. It teeters fore and aft, and there is also some play now so it doesn't fit tight in the pocket at all.

The pic on the right is of the original plate with two holes all the way through for the lugs.

You should contact them and let them know that the change is not working.

+1 on contacting C&H to let them know. Their Customer Service is very good and quick to respond, and hopefully they will address the machining process and send you a new plate. Good luck!

Well I did contact them, and it seems that this is the way their plates are going to be from now on.

I ordered another plate to mount a 507k ACSS optic and those also now come the same way.

I had the same problem with this one too, and it would not sit flush in the pocket. I could see daylight from front to back underneath the plate even after being mounted with the optic and torqued to 15 inch pounds.

To remedy this I once again drilled out the plate for the front recoil lug so it would fit over it and that seemed to take care of the problem.

Now I can just barely see any daylight at the front .370" portion underneath the plate now, and other than that it looks flush now and I could not even get a .001 feeler gauge under it so it is very very miniscule.

So I'm thinking I may have been nitpicking here a bit but what concerns me is are there going to be any kind of harmonic vibration where this plate is not touching in the pocket causing screws to come loose or even vibrate and break?

Of course there's only one way to find out and that is to shoot the damn thing. If I do have any negative results I'll definitely post here.

Hey, I get a process change to make it faster/cheaper, but it sounds like they need to plunge the cutting tool deeper. Should be a simple number change in one line of code. My stepson runs CNC mills.

The metal is so paper thin there, they might as well go back to just going all the way through for the two recoil lugs.

They told me that they did this because of some of the differences on the M&P lug nubs, which doesn't make any sense to me due to the fact it's still exactly the same but just not cut all the way through.

When I drilled it I could see the point of the drill literally pushing into it before it started to go through because of how thin it is there.

Even after making sure everything was clear and there would be nothing causing the plate to not sit even it's still has four and aft play and as I stated in my upper post I could see a bit of daylight through the front portion of the plate still.

I also wouldn't rule out it being possibly a Smith & Wesson problem in the way the pocket is cut out. Maybe there is no consistency there which makes me not want to go this route if I ever do get another M&P, and Just get a non-core model, and
just send the slide out to have it milled to fit whatever RDS I'll be using on it.

I'm not impressed with C&H. This is the 8-9 post I've seen with someone having issues with their plates.

I bought one to mount a Sig Romeo 1 Pro on my MP Pro and had an issue with the lug recessess not lining up. Had to use a file to enlarge the holes.
