Question Smith & Wesson 12104

For an incredibly short amount of time, S&W had a Subcompact M2.0 in 45 ACP. I blinked and it was already out of production and removed from their website before I could snag one. I regret it immensely as I would love to have one of these little fellas. It seems to be just in-between the Shield 45 and the M2.0 Compact 45 that are both still in production, as far as size. Manufacturer model number: 12104 but I can't seem to find one anywhere in the world wide web universe. I've also never come across one in the wild. If anyone has one or knows someone who has one they wouldn't mind parting with, please reach out to me. Or if you happen to stumble upon one in stock on the interwebs, please please let me know. I have no idea why they stopped production after such a short period of time, but I can only assume it's because this particular model was not a big seller. But I must have one.

There's still the m&p shield PC 4" but it will cost you . I like m&p pistols and carry a full size 4.25 40sw or a 5" pc ported and have a optic ready 9mm compact I may want to carry one day but in 45 I've carried an alloy frame 1911 commander for years .

Might be a XD-M ELIT 3.8 compact could fill your needs as well or better than the m&p if you find one . I still carry a alloy framed colt commander as my 45 and I really like and carry M&P's too like an early production 4.25 40sw or a 2.0 5" 40sw thats ported with adjustable sight pc and have a compact 4" 9mm optic ready as a maybe future CC one day .

Okay, now I have to ask. What is so special about the 12104? I have found 12105 and 06 on GB. What is the difference between them?

12104 is a subcompact, no safety. 12105/6 are compacts. 12105 has the manual safety.

Sincere question...are you absolutely POSITIVE S&W actually produced and sold this model? Perhaps a call to customer service might clarify IF and/or HOW MANY actually exist. It might not be the first time an item was announced but never produced due to myriad decisions. Just a thought....

The M&P sub compact 4" 45 is really not a lite or small pistol .

I have a Kahr CT45 I bought when I was between 1911's about 9 years ago . If you notch the bottom front of the grip just enough for the 1911 mags base plate 1911 mags most well run reliably with full size 1911 metal bottom 8 round mags and drop free when ejected or 10 round extended mags as back up .

It's also a smaller pistol in everyway over the m&p SC 45 with a low 370 dollar price in all black nitrite finish can be found . Its a pistol that can handle 45 super as it comes too thanks to heavy for cartridge recoil springs and tight well supported chambers!

Comparing the CT45 kahr to a m&p SC 45 in the site below . Mine came with a 4lb 12oz trigger that is ultra smooth DA style trigger pull but no stacking of weigh as you pull the trigger like on other DA pistol or on any revolver .

Video -

Check out handgun hero's site below - maybe some others will want to try one .

Can you buy the 12105 on GB and delete the manual safety? I know S&W sells plugs to do that for 9mm M&Ps, I'd guess they'd sell them for 45 M&Ps as well.

--

Change that to the version of 12105 that is a subcompact with manual safety.

Kinda curious if anybody knows for sure whether S&W actually produced any 12104 models, or was it just a product code that was assigned, posted, but withdrawn before any actual guns produced? A S&W knowledgeable collector tells of very unique guns of which only one or two were actually produced & carry $ignificant collector price$. Just asking....

I would have bought one, had they remained available. It looked like a great way to have a light, compact .45 with decent capacity.

I picked up one not too long ago, SKU 12104. An m&p 2.0 45acp without thumb safety. It’s labeled “subcompact” though I think it’s a little large for that designation. Maybe I’ll start a separate thread for it. I was looking for one for a couple years before I had the opportunity at one. I get the impression there aren’t many out there. I’m hoping to put some rounds through it soon.
