Hi everyone. I have about 2300 rounds through this M&p 2.0 40 compact. I convert it to 9mm as well but majority of the rounds are 40. No issue whatsoever. I noticed the rear pin next to the thumb safety protrudes a bit. I am not sure if it was like that when I purchased it, never payed attention to the pins, just go shoot and clean. I emailed smith and Wesson and the response said just to send it for service but no explanation. I understand that the pin next to the takedown lever is supposed to protrude. I would love everyone’s opinion/experience. Thank you.

I would suggest that for right now to just tap them back in to the point that they look equal on both sides and then just keep an eye on them to see if they work back out. Someone else may be along shortly more knowledgeable than myself that can provide a better suggestion.

I have an 11 year old 4.25 40 and a 2.0 both in 40sw and I can't say I've had pins walk on me . Even up your pin and pay attention over time .

Thank you both for the reply. I used a rubber mallet and punch and now it’s flush on both sides. I am going to shoot some 40 s&w through it soon and if I see any movement I’ll report back. Will appreciate others to chime in. Thanks again guys.

I don't have a 2.0, but on my earlier models, it matters how the pins were put back in, if they were removed.
Suggest you just field strip it and inspect the pins, insuring any grooves are engaged by the appropriate spring or clip that keeps it from walking sideways. I'm doing post from memory without the gun in front of me, but I think you'll see what I mean if you look. For example, when a pin is removed to replace a trigger spring, one end of the spring rides in a groove in the pin if installed correctly.

Hi all. So I went to the range today and put about 300 rounds of 40 cal though her. Around 100 rounds I noticed the pin went back to where it was resting, and not flush like before. Shot another 200 rounds after I noticed it and no issues. Functioned well, shot well. I think I am gonna send it to S&W to be serviced. Can anyone give me a general turn around time for their service? Thank you all.

Give them a call at 1-800-331-0852. I would guess that the turnaround time would be in the neighborhood of four to eight weeks.

The 1.0 used roll/spring pins in those spots to avoid this sort of thing. Don't know why you couldn't do that with the 2.0.

Hey All, I did not end up sending it to smith for service. I've shot another 150-200 rounds through it with no issue. Maybe the pin just happens to sit there. Thanks again for the replies. If anyone else experienced this, please let me know.
