Picked up an Equalizer. Like it. My wife had a EZ 380 witch you thought was snappy. I just never thought that 380 was very accurate for the size (barrel) .

Eventually I'd like to get her to shoot the Equalizer.

Looking for replacement iron sights for it. Usually go with ameriglo but doesn't look like any fit that gun yet. I blacked out the rear so either need a set or just a compatible front, fiber optic or tritium.

Anyone find a replacement yet?

Have you given any thought to an optic? Since the slide is already cut it might be an option to consider.

I put a CT RAD micro green dot on my equalizer and it's a very accurate shooting gun with it. Very easy installation and it can be co-witnessed.

I see the CT RAD micro red dot has been reduced to $156 on Amazon, making it comparable to fiber optic or tritium sights.

Something to think about.

Was it a direct fit? I thought only the Holosun K's would fit.

Equalizer Optics

Are there any "descent" optics in the $100 range that will fit the Equalizer
I took the ADE Delta Pro off another gun,,but it does NOT fit.

As I mentioned above, the Crimson Trace RAD Micro series is a direct fit (no adapter plate required). I see their RAD Micro Red Dot is listed on Amazon for $144.99 today. I have two Crimson Trace optics - a CTS-1500 red dot on a shield plus, and a RAD Micro green dot on an Equalizer. I've been very happy with them and they don't break the bank or cost more than the gun. Personally, I can't justify spending $300 to $500 on a pistol optic.

My Equalizer is my EDC. My life is worth more than $500.

The term “co-witness” gets thrown around a lot. Just being able to see the irons through the optic is not co-witnessing. Co-witnessing is when the irons and the dot have the same sight picture…i.e., the dot on top of the front sight when the front and rear irons are in alignment.

Technically, yes... When using the Irons, the Optic dot should cover the front site. That is Co-Witnessing... Which is a nice option.
But... When not Co-Witnessing, as long as the Optic is in the window, you're on target and the dot may not necessarily be on the front post.

My Shield-Plus factory Irons are tall enough and the Holosun EPS series Optics sit low enough to see the irons in the bottom 1/3 of the 'Window'. This should be true for the Equalizer, as well.

Being able to view the irons in the Optics window is a Very nice option for if/when the batteries/electronics fail.

But getting back on topic... American Rifleman TV just did an episode on nice FO sites for the Equalizer. You can probably find the episode Online (their .com site)

Yes, a life is worth more than $500. But I'm just curious, how many times has an expensive optic saved a life in a defensive situation? I don't believe in or use an optic on carry guns. You should research target focused point shooting, which is much more likely what will happen in a high pressure defensive situation.

Thanks for your insight, but I'm very much aware of what co-witnessing means. My point was that with a CT RAD Micro mounted on an Equalizer the irons are visible in the bottom of the optic lens. You can absolute or lower 1/3 co-witness, a good starting point to zero your dot at an appropriate distance or for backup if needed.

I am on the fence between getting a Crimson Trace or the Holosun red dot for my new Equalizer. My many question is does the Crimson Trace have to be removed from the gun to change the battery? The Holosun has a side mounted battery that looks easy to change on the gun.

Yes, the CT RAD Micro and CTS-1500 have to be removed to replace the battery (battery on the bottom of the optic). It's not a big deal. I've had one for a little over a year and one for 10 months and not had to change a battery. I've removed them for other reasons and they hold their zero when reinstalled.

I highly recommend the Holosun EPS Carry. The 407K and 507K are good options for the Equalizer also.

Thanks for the input. Bass Pro and Cabelas has the Holosun 507k on sale for $259. I like that is has adjustable brightness settings and that the battery is easily accessible. Ordering one today from Bass Pro.
