I see that Grab A Gun has M&P on sale for $399 that looks like the best price around. Is there something up with a new Smith coming out or is that just maybe getting ride of some inventory?

Are these new or used? If they're new, I grab a few right now. If they're used, that's a fair price. If they're LE trade-ins, I'd expect the price to be a little lower. The MSRP is $629, so for them to drop over $200 off a new gun, they're having a heck of a sale.

Some of the prices of new guns lately make me think we are close to the pre-COVID oversupply situation once again.

Prices are lower than what we saw during the panicdemic, but still higher due to inflation and that's not going to change.

I recently picked up an LEO trade in on GB for $290 plus fees and I think what I have in it is $345 total.

When I broke it down to look it over and clean it I found it be almost like new. The slide and rails looked as if it had been fired very little and showed very little wear.

LEO firearms are often seldom shot, just carried a lot. Once in a while you might even find one that was never issued, but kept as a replacement weapon.

I think my 5" M&P was one of those. It was still full of that light preservative oil. No box, backstraps or papers, but for under $300 all in who cares.

If you go to a gunstore, I agree. But if you look at online prices, some new guns are crazy cheap.
