Default Muzzle slide concentricity

I'm new to semi autos so this is probably just me. On the Smith & Wesson M&P compact and the M&P Shield where the muzzle of the barrel extends through the slide, should the two be exactly concentric when in battery? The space around the barrel looks like it needs a bushing for the barrel to slide through. As I said in the beginning of this thread, it's probably just me. Appreciate your replies, thanks.

No it should not. Lock the slide to the rear and look at the angle of the barrel. It angles upward, which is why the barrel opening in the slide is cut that way.

Give the OP a break, it's not like this would be a commonly searchable, easily phrased question.

Welcome from Louisville. Glad you joined us. Stick around, and ask anything you like (unless it's about internal locks or Glocks). You can get a lot of answers by doing a search, but generally we like questions (unless they're about internal locks or Glocks).

HarryO

As stated above, this Forum is to help, advise, and discuss about M&P handguns. So read the threads and posts, and if you can't find the answer to your question, start a new thread. Welcome.

Bob
