Default S&W M&P Decertified by LASD

One of my magazines today said that the LA Sheriff's Dept had just decertified S&W Military and Police semi-autos for use due to excessive mechanical failures, including one where the barrel broke off just in front of the firing chamber.

So old that I do believe the de-cetification has been lifted. The lead time on magazine stories is about 3 months.

This is what I read also. The "decertification" has been lifted and, fwiw, I also read that the incident where the barrel came apart was on a pistol that had had its chamber aggressively "polished," apparently with a Dremel tool.

There are always two sides to a story.
