Just got my box of 500. They look pretty ugly like my Spanish 1979 surplus, not bright and new like American Eagle...but 50 fired perfectly in my very picky M&P 10s using both a Magpul LR20 and factory 10 round mag. Could they be surplus?

Lake City ammo is not polished brass.
In fact, none of the .mil ammo is polished, other than the Black Hills 308& 300WinMag match ammo for the snipers.
If they do not have a NATO headstamp, then they are not true NATO ammo. The .mil uses the stuff, they simply use it for training, and do not ship it out to the theatre. Any ammo not NATO marked is a no-no for us. The other guys?? They do not adhere to anything NATO, so anything might wind up in their rifles.

Lake City ammo is simply great stuff. Save the brass, it is of THE highest quality and is a touch thicker, so it will take more reloads before you toss it.
