Has anyone had any issues with there slip ring not budging/moving? I weigh 200+lbs and I couldn't get the rings to move, any advice? By the way I own a compliant model (811310)

Yes the delta ring (sorry the manual refered to it as the slip ring), still can't get mine to budge.

It could just need some better leverage. Mine was a bit difficult as well, so I had to stand the gun up with the stock against the counter top, that way I could use most of my weight to pull down on the delta ring. Some gloves might help too.

There are delta ring removal tools to make the job easier, but I don't think you should need it for this.

Although I could get it apart without one, I opted to get the Tapco hand guard removal tool to make it SO0oo much easier to dismantle/reassemble in the future.
It made my hands hurt struggling with it now and then.

Yep. A delta-ring tool will pull it right down for you.

Instead of buying a delta ring tool what I use is a set of large adjustable pliars like this

Wiha 32668 Slide Lock Adjustable Pliers, 10-Inch:Amazon:Industrial & Scientific@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/419MN8OHkiL.@@AMEPARAM@@419MN8OHkiL

I use the handle end which are rubber coated, so they don't scratch, to clamp the delta ring and then pull down with the buttstock against the ground.

Thank you for the feedback, as it turns out something on the D ring was binding (probably the spring) I did end up using a D-ring tool although it still took some effort. I heard a pop...then it moved with out an issue.
