Hi, I was wanting to replace my stock handguard with a MI one piece 12" AR10 SS Series Free Floating Handguard. I feel like I can do it but could use you help. I have a torque wrench but not sure what other tools I will need. Could you guts walk me threw it please? Also what low profile gas block should I get and Part #? ssar10.jpg

I think Troy has one of the low profiles that would work. I know it works with their 308 handguards. I called them inquiring about it. I think they're around 30 to 35 dollars. I'm not sure. www.troyind.com

The gas block that is. Their MRF 308 handguards are $262 for the 13.8"

Go with the MI low gas block on the bottom of the image you posted. It will work fine.

As for tools you will need Allen wrenches, an armorer's tool for the barrel but, and a torque wrench.

adding to liljohn's response ... be careful with the cheap $10 armorer's tools as some of them are cast with a small inner gusset/lip that will not clear the AR308 size barrel. The Tapco armorer's tool will work fine on the M&P10 barrel nut.
