Finally got my S&W AR-10 out of lay away and was wondering about spare mags. Will the DPMS or Armalite mags work in the S&W??

The M&P10 uses LR308/SR25 style magazines. Magpul is the favorite (obviously) and ASC is what mine came with. It seems that DPMS mags work for some and not for others. I've never tried DPMS, so I can't say for myself.

Magpul is certainly the easiest and smoothest operating. ASC 20 round magazines are cheaper but much harder on the the fingers to use.

Armalite AR10 magazines and M1A1 magazines are a different design and will not work.

Chuck the factory mag right into the junk drawer, go get MagPul Mags and save yourself the possible headaches from using the other brands

100% truth. Plus MagPul has limiters so your 10 round mag is blocked to 5 for the States that limit your capacity for hunting.
In Or-a-gun you can hunt with suppressors. You can hunt varmints at night with unlimited magazine capacity with some restrictions.

My rifle came from the factory with a Magpul.

I use Magpul mags in mine. No issues. I like the ease of use, reliability, and no sharp edges. I use them exclusively in my M&P15 and other M4 carbines as well.
