Hey guys, i have been slowly upgrading my MP10, next step is an ambi charging handle. Everything i have read is from 2013 and is very contradictory. From what i understand, the AXTS Raptor charging handle works sometimes with modifications and sometimes it just drops in, now im seeing that a BCM charging handle will work. The reason im asking is because ive noticed some design changes in the Raptor, which looks like it will drop in with no mods required. Someone please help direct me. Is there one out there that will just drop in? Thanks!!!

I removed a functioning Veltor BCM from an AERO M-5 and installed it in a S&W MP-10. It fits but the red light came 'on' in my head.
I do not subscribe to drawing and dropping a bolt on an empty chamber. Lowering the bolt with the charging handle would not latch the BCM. If I'd push it forward it would latch. I was only curious if it would properly function in the 10 so did not bother to proceed further. If someone wanted to spend the time they may be able to figure out if the BCM is binding, needs relieving, wrong length somewhere or what.
I would ASSUME it would properly latch in live-fire but I value my eye too much to make an unnecessary gamble. I think the proprietary thing has bit our arse again. Proceed with caution

I have a BCM charging handle with the large latch and it works fine.

Sure! It seems they must have changed the design some since the initially made handles. I know people were having issues with the early models.

You could modify with no fuss your existing latch with this for $10. (Not 'ambi' but better than original)

Darn it! I may just have to get one anyway to prove them wrong! I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure there is a M7P10 owner or two here that have a handle.
Just kidding. My BCM works just fine. No point in spending money on a handle I don't need. Now if I get or build another .308 rifle...

I ended up getting a BCM and if I hold the bolt from slamming its way back in then it doesn't want to latch on its own, just like the guy above was describing, I have cycled it a few times and now it seems to do ok, I still haven't shot it yet, anyway, ill repost when I do.
I emailed them for I think a second time now asking if the Falkor works in the M&P 10 "correctly". Not disputing your claim but anxious to see their response. That little OEM handle sucks with a scope mounted and I'd love to run something the manufacturer says works properly. Plus that price point is attractive
Even though this thread is months old, thought I'd mention I easily modified an AXTS Raptor 7.62 charging handle to work in my M&P 10. File off the little bump on the forward top side and file the front hole down to flush with the inside trough and you're good to go!
I dropped a Raptor into my 10 and it worked with no problems at all. I was very concerned about it and even called the manufacturer. The told me that it would NOT fit the M&P10. The only physical difference I could find between the Raptor and the existing handle was that the Raptor had a slightly smaller hole for the gas tube, but it still fit okay. Dropped it in and works like a champ.
