Hi I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section.
I'm currently purchasing a S&W M&P-10. I'm looking for a free float front rail.

I want the Fortis Switch But the M&P is a low profile, and the Fortis is a high profile.
My question is; Will the Fortis mount up without any issues?

I don't really care if the rails are different heights. I don't plan to mount any accessories that would need to bridge the two. I just want to make sure I can use the hand guard.
Any help or information about this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Wow! I guess there no one here who has any experience with this?

Here's what I found out, the low profile is .150 and the high is .210 the M&P is .150
The high profile will basically mount up, but the rails will be on a different level.
The mounting will work as long as it's a DPMS platform.
So if you're using optics that will only mount on th receiver then there should be no issue.
But if you want to mount flip up sights then you will need to modify the sights to compensate for the difference in height.

The M&P10 platform is not a popular one due to the firearm cost and the cost to feed it. So, there isn't a lot of traffic on the board.

As long as the mount for the hand guard is DPMS compatible, it should work.

I chose to go with an APEX Machinery hang guard myself and with the rail at the same height of the rail on the upper receiver.

If the rails not matching doesn't bother you and the rail mount is compatible, you should be fine.

Thanks for the response!
I think I'll be going wit the MI 15" M-lok style hand guard.
I was looking at the MCX but I figured for the same price and just about .5 lbs additional weight I would go with the M&P10 Because of the hitting power. I already have a .308 HK SR9T so I'm already dealing with the cost of ammo.

I'm also trying to order an FN-15 but most mid to high end AR15's seem to be hard to come by.
My local GS has the MCX in stock so if I can't get the FN15 I'll pick up the MCX for now.

Mutenaye How do you like the MCX?
