AR10 308 Suppressed AMMO GRAIN?
Hello all.
Threw a can on the 308 and I'm not even hitting paper at 100yrd.i was previously grouping at around 1/2" with 165gr. Hopefully some of you guys have already spent the money figuring out what grain she likes to eat with a can on.
Thank you for your time

With those results, I suggest VERY strongly that you invest in a .30 cal alignment rod to confirm the bullets are clearing the suppressor without ANY contact. It takes very little misalignment between the rifles bore and the bore of the suppressor to throw things off. A slight point of impact shift is not unusual but a large shift should be setting off alarm bells.

I'll give that a try. Didn't even know they made those. I will say that when I took the can apart none of the baffles had any sign of a strike nor did the end cap. A guide rod seems like a good thing to have anyway. Thank you very much for your help

A quality suppressor should not have a dramatic negative effect on your accuracy. If you try to go too heavy on your bullet in a standard .308 twist rate barrel, to try and get subsonic or try down loading your rounds into the subsonic range, you can run into bullet instability issues.
How is your suppressor attached to your rifle's barrel? Direct thread-on or quick attach muzzle device? If direct thread on, make sure the suppressor's back plate/threaded end cap has a large enough barrel shoulder to bottom out against for proper alignment. If using a quick attach muzzle device, make sure the muzzle device is attached to the barrel strictly according to the suppressor/QA devices instructions. Everything has to be installed and aligned concentric with the BORE.

Does the MP 10 have an adjustable gas system? A 308 is not an ar-15, and your gas needs adjusted to run a suppressor. Commonly the poi drops about 4 clicks, maybe off to the side a little.
And you need to check alignment mounting a suppressor on any firearm with similar bore size, and even consider doing it mounting a larger caliber suppressor on a smaller caliber firearm

I have a 90's Bushmaster AR15. When I put my MAC-10 9mm can on it, I hanging 19 ounces on the end of the barrel, that totally changes the harmonics. To correct I had to try several ammos before I found on that would adjust onto the bull at 50 yards. Then I had to index against the neoprene crush washer. That took it from 6" @ 50 down to less than one inch. Last time i war on a open steel plate range with it, I was at 3" at 234 yards. My old can is large and heavy by todays standard. It is also far quieter than more modern cans!
Try several ammos and adjust harmonics. (I went from 55 FMJ to 50 V-Max. on 223)

Me again, first I apologize as I missed the AR part and posted about my bolt gun earlier.
That said, I took the POF Revolution DI AR10 to the range today as I had not run it with the Banish on it. Using my hand loads as mentioned before.
Results at 100y without, on center .50 moa. With suppressor, 1.25" low and .75" right at about 1.12" moa.
Additionally it did not like being suppressed very much. Some gas blow-back in the face and a couple lame FTE's. I do need to tune the adjustable gas feature at the next session. But it was quiet lol. The RPR likes it.

Here are the results of the alignment rod.
What do you think. It's pretty far off to the 11-11:30.

That’s weird. I believe you that your groups open up with a can on the end. But it’s been my experience, with my rifles, groups shrink up with that weight screwed onto the end of the barrel. Every situation is different.
I’ve played with suppressors a bit. On Gas Guns, they’re not worth the money, trouble getting your rifle gassed correctly, a dirtier fire arm, and smoke in the face. Electronic muffs on earplugs work for me.
Bolt guns are a different story. To each his own.
