a business card... very small tweezer OR small needle nose pliers. and a small but effective flat head screwdriver, a large white towel and a some patience... pop the little c clip off the EPC rod off with the flat head... keep track of it... its way too fricken small and ha sa very good range when it gets let loose.. laying a white towel under your gun will help you locate this little rascal if it does get away from ya. cover it with your hand or the towel when popping , just to knock it down
once that is off.... place a business card or piece of card stock onto the gun behind the ejection port cover and start to slide the rod out...placing the business car here will prevent the rod from scratching your gun especially since your FA is kinda in the way...the rod will pull out below the FA... the rod will fight ya a little both on the way in and out but i assure you it'll go just gotta finesse it a little... once this is out.. replace the dust cover with your custom one, line up the spring and slide the rod back in and finagle it till its all the way in....
once the rod is back in... replace the clip(its gonna be a punk to get that little clip back in its groove)... a little bit of business card under here will help incase the needle nose's slip to prevent scratching...
thanx grover... though i feel it might be a little redundant just because most people on here own sports... but hey its good info for those of us who bought models other than sports.... a guy at a local gunshow was doing it to a gun in tt his booth and i bought my ejection port cover and just took notes and did it on my own at home... its really not hard... its just there's close tolerances between the rod, its holdings and pulling it out past the forward assist which is right in the way... but not difficult to get past.. like i said.. just got to finesse it a little
