I just got my PSX a month ago or so, and I believe you can. From what I have read you have to remove the Delta Ring with a special wrench and then the Free Float rail should come with all the necessary parts to install it on the barrel. Troy Industries website says they don't have data on piston rifles, but since our PSX comes with a Troy rail I don't see why not, the piston is basically a moving gas tube.

Good luck let me know how it turns out.

Default Free Float Rail System for M&P15 PSX

If you go to Adams Arms site they have a few that will fit no problem. Now if you wanted an extended rail system I think it depends on which style of gas block was installed on your PSX.

DanielDefense Omega Rail 7. Free float rail that enables you to install it without any alterations to the rifle. No need to remove your gas block.

MPDC,
Thanks buddy. I never realized they were that expensive.....wow $300 bucks. I do like the looks of that Daniel Defense one tho. I'm just wondering if it would pay me to get one. The only reason I want one is to improve accuracy...no other reason, and I'm not sure it would get that much better for that price. I'll have to think about it now....thanks again.

I think Primary Arms has the Omega 7 for like 229. I'm not sure it accomodates a piston system but the Daniels website seems to indicate it will.

Here is my take. With my carbine (non piston) I have a cheap MOE handguard and it is plenty accurate out to distances I shoot at. (Usually 100 yds. , occassionally a bit farther.)

IF you want absolute target accuracy with the tightest possible groups, have an optic that will help enable that and think it will bug you NOT to have the sharpest tool available, invest in it. Too many of us kind of stair step up, buying cheap then moving up to expensive, first class equipment afterwards and end up spending lots more than if we had bought the good stuff in the first place.

I have seriously considered that rail system but know I really don't need it and probably won't benefit much from it aside from "having the best available" without major surgery on the carbine.

I like the MOE but it is not absolutely tight (pretty close though) and can take a rail IF I want to add something (haven't and can't think of what I would). Still, the "fever" may get the best of me, LOL.
