Anyone shoot Moly coated bullets through M&P15?
Or any AR for that matter. Just curious.
Bored and waiting on my M&P 15 Sporter to come in.

I don't see any point in doing so. Moly coating isn't something you dabble in and then switch back to normal bullets, this can lead to an uneven coat of moly fouling in your bore and accuracy problems. If you want to dedicate a rifle to shooting only Moly, then there can be some benefit, but most people do not use their AR-15s like that.

I've used moly in my 700 PSS in .308. Yep, you need to treat the bore with moly before shooting. You still have to make sure you clean it after you're done as moly can trap moisture and corrode your barrel. I quit using it as it seemed more trouble than it's worth.
I am just curious if anyone has used it in an AR.

moly in Ar's
I have been using nothing but moly in all of my target rifles for several years. The USMC rifle team use nothing but moly bullets, and have for years. If it's good enough for the "best" it's good enough for me. I like the benefit of no copper fouling. I don't know about the other claimed benefits, but accuracy at 600 yards is very good, better or worse than non moly, who knows? I will stick with molys as long as the USMC does.

Thanks. What barrel maintenance regimen do you follow? I'm curious to know. I just didn't shoot enough to justify the moly although it seemed to me to work as advertised.
