Default Mags for 5.45x39

I've been looking at picking up an M&P15 in the now-discontinued 5.45x39 to take advantage of the cheap ammo prices, but there seems to have been some issues with mags in general for 5.45 ARs.

Is there a consensus as to whether this has been resolved, or is there particular mags that work reliably for this application? Thanks.

CProducts used to make the 5.45 magazines, but I think they went out of business. AIM has some from ASC (Ammunition Storage Components).

Default YMMV but...

I've got an LWRC 5.45 upper on a Spikes Tactical lower that works fine with standard AR 30 rd P-MAGS loaded with 20-22 rds.

The C-Product mags were hit/miss with my gun. I luckily numbered them as some worked with up to 28 rds...one of them was totally unreliable.

The mag dilemma with the AR based 5.45's is unfortunate. Personally I like the cartridge and since I bought my ammo several yrs back I'm still running on NICKEL a round ammo!

On the AR-15.com forums theres all sorts of threads on this subject. There was even a member there who sold an improved follower for the 5.45 rd.

I've never used the ASC magazines, so can't say whether they are reliable or not. I've got a bunch of CProducts SS mags. They all work fine, but they are replacements for some that I did have a lot of problems with - mainly they wouldn't stay in the gun! Larry at CProducts did replace them with the ones I have now, and they've worked fine.
