M&P Sport handguard change ?
Just bought my first AR, a M&P 15 sport. Will be picking up monday. I want to change the handguards and want to order right away but want to make sure I order the right ones as there are so many out there it gets confusing. Want direct replacements without effecting front sight. Thinking either Magpul moe or a quadrail. Can.u give.me my best options, same length as stock, not affecting front sight. Brand, model# and where to get. Forgive my long rant just excited to get my first rifle

Magpul is fine if you like the look. For a quadrail I'd recommend a UTG Pro carbine length (about $60). You can find them at Midwayusa.com Very easy to swap them (10 minutes tops). If you don't know how find a video on youtube. Good luck!

Anything carbine length that catches your fancy will work.

+1...I just put that same quad-rail on my Sport today...seems like a very nice quality forend. I wasn't sure how difficult it would be, as they make a handguard removal tool, and the gun manual indicates it's a two-person job. Not so, it was very easy...the only tool I used was a putty knife to wedge apart the stock handguard while I held down the Delta ring with the other hand.

Hard to beat for the money and most others are available at Primary Arms, with good discounts. They don't kill you with shipping charges either.

Like Jay said! I have the Magpul MOE and love it. But than again all I have mounted is a light. If you want to mount a bunch of junk on your rifle than get the quad rail.

The only hand guards I've even seen weighed are the free float ones. I don't remember anyone worrying about the weight of ones that lock in with a delta ring.

12" handguard
I'm looking to purchase a longer handguard than the carbine length such as this utg 12 inch quad rail.
UTG Pro 2-Piece Handguard Quad Rail AR-15 Rifle Length Matte Black
Can anyone tell me what I need to put this handguard on the s&be m&p15 sport 2. New gas block? Any other accessories?
Thanks

Definitely a low profile gas block and some sort of rail mounted front sight to replace the A2 gas block sight.

I bought a quad rail off of E-Bay for $25. Free shipping. Fit perfect and a very nice piece. Could spend more I guess.

Not sure why you would choose a quad rail over Keymod or M-Lok.
If money is the main factor, go with a Magpul carbine drop-in.
For something better, spend a few $$ and go free-float.

I did the same thing on my Sport 1 and my AR-556. Mine are UTG quad rail drop in hand guards. I bought them from CTD for $24.95 each. I had a 25% off coupon, which brought the price down to almost $38 plus shipping. They even came with ladder type covers.
They look and feel like a $100+ quad rail, but, for a fraction of the price.

Phil's got one for sale up in the classifieds sticky. The UTG quad $40 shipped. Looks good. I'd do that if UTG is what you're looking for.

If you don't have to have the "latest and greatest", don't forget about inventory liquidators like: CDNN SPORTS - CDNN Sports - Huge Savings on Guns and Magazines
They have some very good quality stuff at very good prices.
