Default gritty trigger on sport

just got back from range,
shot 40 reloads,
best i could do was 2.5moa,
using 65gr sierra gameking with varget and h4895,
4-12x40 simmons scope.
my trigger is very gritty on take up until release,
which did not help my 8 groups.
any suggestions as to improving existing trigger or getting a upgrade trigger.

Good.................................................ALG Defense - where triggers with tradition, value and regulatory concerns are of primary importance

Better.........................................Geissele Automatics - Quality Triggers for the Warfighter and Competitor

Carefully polish the sear & disconnect + JP Enterprises "Yellow" trigger spring set.

I then separate the lower from the upper. While keeping my thumb on the hammer to keep it from impacting the lower, I'll manually reset the hammer and pull the trigger. I'll do this while watching TV.

I do this to get the parts to wear in together.
