If you don't want to bother with a permanently mounted one, they have those that grasp the barrel, I think they are spring loaded. Otherwise, you'll most likely have to change your hand gaurd to accomodate mounting one. Any carbine length hand gaurd should interchange.

I believe you can mount a rail on the existing hand guard then use a device that clamps to the rail, then you can put a bipod on it. If you do, get the bigger device as the small one doesn't give much for the bi-pod to clamp to.
Or you can put a quad-rail on it replacing the stock hand guard. Here's a pic of my sport with a GMG quad. I have since move the bi-pod back on the rail. You also can see the gap between the bipod and the bottom rail as I just used what I had in my parts to take the pic. It too will be getting the longer bipod mount asap.
Regards,

The grippod bipods are nice, the chinese knockoffs are exactly that. I love my GripPod, but am thinking about getting one of the folding metal ones like I have on my hunting rifle. I think they are a little more stable although the GripPod is very stable, the chinese knockoffs may support your rifle and say they are rated for 350lbs but they arent that stable, anyhow that has been my experience so far.

Here's the sturdy mount that I would recommend:
BIPOD ADAPTER - Brownells
And as I said, I believe there is a one piece rail you can attach to your OEM hand-guard. This would be it: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2...TE-RAIL-SYSTEM

This is the kind that I have and I do like it. I don't have a bayonet lug anyhow (Thanks New York) so it's what I use anyhow but I like it because it's easy to take off and put on my other rifle and I can do so at the range.
