Suggestions for M&P 15X

I've been wanting to get an AR now for a while and have been doing some research. I'm pretty much set on picking up the M&P 15X after checking out several and test firing one this past weekend at the range. I think the Troy folding sights sold me over the M&P 15T. Any suggestions/comments regarding the 15X?

Also, I'm looking for some feedback/suggestions regarding optics. I'm looking to go red dot sight and co-witness it with the front sight. Any suggestions on a solid, reliable, mid-range price red dot sight? EoTech and Trijicon ACOGs are a bit out of the price range.....

Tru Glo has some nice Red dots that seem to hold up to abuse pretty good. Usually around the 100.00 price range.

The X, IMO is a beautiful rifle. I would have bought the X as opposed to my A had I not got the price I did on my A. I have the same rear Troy sight as the X, but a fixed A2 sight up front. That Troy rail is probably one of the nicest rails I've seen for the carbine length AR's, looks really good with the military & police embossed on the side as well. You'll be happy with it, just buy some extra mags and plenty of ammo and have some fun.
