M&P 15 price
Hi Everyone,
I was looking at buying a brand new M&P 15 this model (adding 50.00 for the installed bullet button).
Product: Model M&P15 Rifle
IS 999.99 a good price for this?
I've looked around in southern CA and I dont see any cheaper than that really. I was ondering if anyone out there has seen or known if they are cheaper.
Thanks!

Offhand it doesn't look like a bad price in relation to MSRP.

Compliant and ca compliant are different. Bullet button is a ca only thing atm. Impact is good but I would call and verify stock before ordering.
Then just have to find a place willing to do the ffl transfer for a good price. I pay $25 where I am to have it done.
Link to impact.

Buds price is $877 (cash) +3% if using credit for the same model number.

Actually, the link he posted is NOT even compliant, having a 30 round mag. AND is not an OR but an "A" version.

It's not the A model either. A model doesn't have the carry handle, has the Troy folding battle sight. The model he is looking at is the 'standard' model.

I like my M&P-15 that I bought a year ago for $1100, but when I saw the 6920 for the same price two months ago, I had to buy one. Still keeping the M&P-15, however.

If you want iron sites getting that one local for $1049 total is probably worth it.
If you are gonna use a scope instead anyway then a or version from a .net dealer might be worth it.

quote from Colts website
"Colt’s rifles are the only rifles available to sportsmen, hunters and other shooters that are manufactured in the Colt factory and based on the same military standards and specifications as the United States issue Colt M16 rifle and M4 carbine."
based on, not the same as...
in other words.... All other look alikes are based on the same thing, just not built in a factory with Colt's name on it.

AND you are correct, it is NOT the A model. I took a quick peek and actually was concentrating on the fact it was not an OR and not Cal. compliant. Just adding a bullet button won't make the 30 round mag compliant nor the stock, will it?
IMHO, nothing special about Colts. I have some horror stories about some, over my years and experiences. I trust S&W quality control as much, if not more. They are both good brands, Fanboy hype aside. PDs use more of them because of tradition and subsidies NOT, IMHO, better quality. Fit and finish on my OR was flawless. The colts I have used, not so much but they weren't "mine, personally". Mil spec or not, LMT is the most impressive AR I have seen. MAybe just me.

I got the exact same model (81100) with the carry handle at a local gun store for $950. Yeah anything under $1K is a good price for this model.......I've seen some places selling them for over $1,100.
