I recently picked up an m&p sport based on reviews here (thank you for doing those) and from what I was looking for. I'm a sucker for finding guns where the value is disproportionate to the cost and the m&p sport might be the best yet.

I purchased the m&p because I was looking for something I could have fun with and also a backup HD gun. I also love having something for my or friend's kids to shoot at the range that can fit them with almost no recoil that's not a .22.

The only things I've added are MOE handguards, magpul CTR stock, and hogue grip. I wanted the heat shield and like the flatter bottom on the MOE 'guards. The oem stock doesn't fit in my shoulder pocket and the hogue grip really does make the whole gun feel better.

One more mod, I put a 5/8x1/2x1/16 o ring around the front lug to tighten up the wiggle. It works.

Here's a picture of my 14 year old brother in law shooting it. He had a blast.

congrats I love mine

Sounds like you had a great time. I did the same with my 14yo son two weeks ago. Took the new Sport and my 15-22. After having a blast shooting the Sport we had to force ourselves to finish off the six mags of 22LR for the 15-22. haha
