Stock Cheek Rest
I've seen the cheek rest for the MOE stock but is there one that is specific to the "standard" stock on the M&P? After multiple rounds down range, I'm starting to get a feel for what I would like to adjust.

I have seen some "snap on" cheek rests that would work on the factory stock. Crracer sent me a link but I cant find it at the moment. I have a large scope mounted on my Sport and have just started seriously thinking about a cheek rest, but by the end of this week I will have some new parts that enable me to get a better mounting situation plus loosing the A2 front sight in favor of a railed gas block. After these changes I will know more about what I am looking for.
I saw a couple in the new CDNN catalog last night.

Just make sure the cheek rest does not block the full stroke of the charging handle when the stock is extended to the position which you normally shoot.

I know it's expensive, but for an AR I would get this and mount it on a CTR stock.
LaRue Tactical RISR
You can get away with the MOE cheek riser on a 15-22, but for a real AR I don't feel impeding the charging handle is a good idea under any circumstances. This LaRue product is a decent solution.

Yes. It's the MOE stock plus a friction lock to eliminate play on the receiver extension. Not a completely necessary upgrade, but I like it.
