I mainly print my own.

The first two are 8" circles, one with 1/2" grids and the other is plain. The third target is based on a thread on calguns.net about sighting your M4's iron sights 1.2" low at 25m to be zero'd out to 230m.

I also bought three 100 packs of color change 6" bullseye so I can actually see my hits at 100 yards. haha.

I get the ShootN See. I will get the RedHead version from Bass Pro when I am there, they are less expensive.

I had my favorite picture of my ex enlarged, blacked out some teeth, colored in some boogers... Works great!

These are primarily what I use, available at Wally World. Although I do print off some of my own off of the printable target website.

The outdoor range I go to doesn't allow human-style targets so I'm stuck with shooting at circles and squares...but never arranged in a way that could be mistaken for a human silhouette. lol

For checking zero on my hunting rifles, a paper plate with a black dot in the center made by a sharpy. For pistol, human shaped silhouette, for rifle on the range I print them off, just standard bullseye target.

I bought 1000 of these targets (dirt cheap) from a Army surplus store several years ago. They have a bullseye that is slightly smaller than 1 3/4".

1000 Inch Range?

[does some quick calculation... (1000" * 2.54)/100=25.4m ]

Why would anyone label a 25m target in inches? haha

Laugh all you want but on older military ranges they had a 1000" range! When the Navy started grooming me for the Navy team all practice was accomplished on the 1000" range. This was in San Diego across the highway from Miramar Naval Base, it was called Camp Elliot, and the "D" range had the 1000" range. When you shoot at this range you can set zero's and do position work without tying up the regular range which by the way went to 1000 yards which we practiced on every saturday if there were no matches to attend. There was also a correlation target that you could place at the 1000" distance and dial in approximate zero's for 200,300 ,600 yards.

The absurdity in the US Gov't is legendary, for sure. It's a good thing your base didn't convert the longer ranges to meters or you would have been practicing on the 39,370" range.

1fly2ty;
That sounds like a very good experience. And believe me I was not putting down anything. I myself just found it humorous that instead of 25 meters they put 1000 inches. I grew up with inches, feet and yards, and when I was in the Corps it was that way. But in my young adulthood came the switch to the metric system and I have always laughed at the comparisons. In the Olympics it was the 100 meter dash, in the US it was the 100 yard dash, 3 1/3 inches per yard longer was the meter (actually 39.37 inches, I have never forgot that). Thank you for your Service
Grover

Tip:
If you want to have Big targets, stop at your liquor store and get expired window beer posters. They are usually plasticised, and can be shot on the rear with stickons, or hand drawn figures.

I use bullseye targets, different sizes for different calibers and ranges. From tiny pin point targets for BR50 to large 8" bulls for long range offhand I'll use a target with a 1" grid for sighting in at 100.

I use several types depends on what I am doing, I use 8 in shoot and see round targets for accuracy up to 300 yards normally and smaller orange stick on centers for 100 yards ( I use scopes ). or if I just want to shoot I use my zombie targets, the pizza delivery guy is my favorite.

I used this type of target because it's easy for me evaluate POI & make adjustments to my sights and POA.

Otherwise, give me a fun target. There was a golf themed splatter target at the range that looked good.

Thanks alot...We dont have Academy but will be going to Cabela's next week...going to Wichita for Dr appts but the important thing is picking up 1000 CCI #41 5.56 military primers. I have discovered that the hotter primers burn cleaner.
Thanks
