Default Really dumb question

Hey guys I'm still new to the ar platform. I am going to order a MOEŽ Carbine Stock. But heres the really dumb question I have to ask. How do I tell if I need the commercial or the military spec stock?

Take the old stock off and look at the back of the buffer tube.
If it's slanted, it's commercial.
If it's 90 degrees, it's a Mil Spec.

Here ya go

General comment: Hey, I've been around quite a while and I never knew that. Very interesting, and good answer! Thanks!

It wasn't a dumb question at all.

Yeah, major fail. I wanted a good laugh this morning and saw the thread title and was really hyped up to read something moronic.

Hell I thought my Sport was commercial spec, since supposedly it is not milspec...well I guess not completely milspec.

Dimensions wise, pin holes and such should all be milspec. Probably the only thing not would be the barrel material and design of the upper receiver/lower receiver.

And when I say 'design' I'm just referring to the built in trigger gaurd and the lack of dust cover/FA.

IMHO... First... there ain't NO such thing as a dumb question! Second... there's only dumb mistakes cause somebody didn't ask the question to start with! Good question and an enlightening education, especially with the graphic post provided by Gunslinger808.

Thanks and blessings,
Hog
