I just thought I'd pass on some info that may be of interest.
I like my triggers to be light and crisp, and it's important to me that my AR triggers all be very similar, if not as identical as I can make them.
The trigger in my S&W Sport was "ok"... but not great. It had a lot of movement but it was quite smooth, albeit a bit on the heavy side. I wanted something lighter and crisper.
In that effort, I decided that instead of messing with the triggers myself (and potentially decreasing the life span), or having someone else do the work, I would replace the trigger group in one rifle first. I started shopping.
After reading reviews and listening to other shooters, I decided to try the Geissele SSA-E trigger group, sold by Brownell's (
link).
It's a bit pricey, but I figured I only live once. I also figured I was taking a chance, as I just don't know how a trigger group comprised of separate parts can be as good as a drop-in unit.
I need not have worried. Incredible trigger. It's a 2-stage, with the final pull being very light with no creep at all. 5 minute install, and easy to drop the stock parts back in if you ever want to. Fit and finish of the parts are superb also. An original strength hammer spring is used, so no need to worry about primer ignition.
The best part is, I bought a second one for another AR to see how they compared. I cannot tell the difference! It will be great to be able to move from one rifle to the other and have the same trigger feel. No, I don't have any affiliation with Brownell's or Geissele, either. There are numerous places I've seen them, and they're actually a couple of $$ cheaper on Amazon, of all places.
Take it for what it's worth. If you want a really nice trigger, I can't say enough good things about this one.
