New Bolt Carrier Group
I am looking for a BCG for my new build. I know I should be able to find one that doesnt cost half of what my sport cost brand new. Somehow the parts and pieces arent adding up...I read all these posts about people being able to build there AR cheaper than you can buy a sport for....that is serious BS, I have been looking. the cheapest I can find is an SI from Midway for $110 dollars so if anyone can tell me where to find one cheaper I would appreciate it.

Be causious of distributors who say "they have" when "they don't" just false advertise and want to back order (bait and switch). I just went throught this with two dealers this week. Midway, Brownells, and Primary Arms are all top shelf dealers.

Grover,
I ran into the same conundrum. I think the key to building an AR15 within the same price range as the 15-Sport is to buy a complete upper, not piece one together.
What's your budget? For $175, you can get a complete nickel boron finished BCG.

For what you are going to spend, I would go a little extra and get the Nickle Boron, I hear they are just amazing.

$110 is a good price for a BCG. You can usually find a few, new or used, over on the equipment exchange at ar15.com

On the BCG topic, does anyone have any opinions on the TiN coated BCG's? I'm considering going with a chrome group for easier cleaning but haven't heard much about the titanium nitride coating. I'm not certain if it's worth considering.
I'm using the M&P for 3 gun competitions and target shooting, so I put a good amount of lead downrange every month. The chrome carrier group would be nice since it is easier to clean. If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.

IMO, if all your primary goal is easier cleaning just get a CAT M4 tool for $30.
Insert & scrape off fouling.
Solvent moistened patch to wipe it out.
Scrape off carbon fouling off the bolt tail in 4 full revolutions.
Clean off the firing pin.
If your primary goal is trying to use less/no lube, then some of those exotic coatings claim better inherent lubricity than standard coating.

Good deal. That would certainly save me a considerable amount of money too. Thanks!
