The UTG brass catcher!
I got a UTG brass catcher and took my Sport to the range with it installed and on the first round I had a stove pipe so I took it off and fired the rest of the rounds left with no incident so I have seen on this forum others using this device or maybe it was a review on Midways web site about tweaking the fit of the brass catcher so it would work properly on your AR15 or in this case the M&P15!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, the reason I bought one is not to keep the brass but to not bomb the guy or gal next to me at a range with no barrier between shooters!

I have one and I modified it with plastic from a 1 gallon milk carton. The problem I had was the bag opening would not stay open, the bag would hang down and in effect close the mouth leaving the brass no where to go and it would on occasions bounce back and get caught in the action.
I took a gallon milk jug and cut it so it kind of looks like the visor on a baseball cap, then took this piece and stapled and duct taped it in the mouth of the bag with the sort of visor on top. This holds the bag open and all the brass goes right in the bag. The inside is not so pretty but on the out side all you see is a strip of duct tape.

For some reason they seem to collapse and send the brass right back into the receiver opening. I turned mine inside out and left it that way until I used it but then I didnt turn it back inside out and the next time I used it it did the same thing. Since then I have taken two wire clothes hangers and made frames that fit into the sides of the catcher that hold it open and keep it from collapsing but anytime it collapses and folds down it will do the same dang thing. I like rebs idea better, I still have to fiddle with my wires!!

Could I perhaps get a pic of proper install so it fits right after modification?

I went to the range today and I used a UAG catcher for the first time and had no problems at all with it, it looks like a similar design as the UTG.

Mine does the same thing. All I do it un zip it so the brass falls out. That way its not getting chucked a few feet away. I do the same thing with it mounted on my Cetme because it tosses the .308 brass like 30ft and you never find it. so this just drops it on the bench or at your feet.

Here is another option. They have a plastic or nylon one for all flat top uppers for $50.00 and one for a carry handle for $37.00 These are probably the best if you don't mind spending the money

I turned my UTG brass catcher inside out and attached it to my homebuilt last night, worked perfect, no brass came back and they all ended in the bottom of the bag. Nice
