questions on m&p15orc
I just picked up my m&p 15 orc today and I have a question that I have not been able to find the answer to. Can I just buy a collapsible stock and put it on and if so how do I go about taking the old one off? Thanks for the help.

Stocks are easily changed. You Tube is likely your best online source for instructions.
Congrats on your new carbine, CD

Instructional video here DIY AR-15 Build: Buttstock Installation
Your ORC is pinned, and assuming you can't save the receiver extension, you'll need one similar to this MIL-SPEC 6 POSITION CARBINE STOCK TUBE | Brownells
But before ordering a receiver extension or buttstock..... Determine for certain if you will be using a milspec or commercial. If using the original, measure the tube diameter, spec here Carbine Buffer tube dimensions for Commercial vs Mil-Spec? - AR15.Com Archive

I don't know if I can articulate it correctly, adjust the stock to the last position, slide the adjustment lever toward the receiver, and lift the adjustment lever away from the buffer tube, then pull the stock off while continuing to lift on the adjustment lever (I say lift because I usually have the rifle upside down on my lap).
I dont have an optics ready model, so you have to confirm what type of buffer tube you have before you buy an aftermarket buttstock. My sport has a "mil-spec" sized tube, I'm sure your's does as well but double check.
Any stock you buy should have instructions, so you should be good to go, the whole process will take about a minute (it is really easy)

It's a pinned, AWB compliant stock so it's not moving or going anywhere without a little work.
Stupid question but are you in a state that requires a pinned stock?

LOL, I read that, and then completely left it out of my mind while responding!
My bad. I must have been too excited to help someone out!
