My ammo order from Cabela's which was supposed to arrive sometime next week (week of the 28th) has now been set back to Feb. 24th:mad: ...... Every order that I have placed for mags or gun parts is on back order! The Whole Firearms Industry Is In Shambles! I have Logged Over 30 hrs. On This Computer Looking For Ammo And Everything Is SOLD OUT! My Only Alternative Is to Keep Checking My Local Walmarts Daily! I did have one bit of good news though, got an email from 44Mag.com that said they will be shipping my order for the 5 NHMTG 30rd. mags. next week.:D

I did get lucky and got some from Midway this week, but my Cabelas order placed in mid Dec. is still on backorder. Given the prices on Gunbroker for ammo I can wait on Cabela to ship my 1/2 price orders. I also check all the big sites daily looking for deals and thanks to our members posting on the site when they find it in stock.

My 2 ammo orders from Cabela's were originally backordered with expected arrival 01/25. Received email from them extending the backorder until 02/28. I'll wait. I'm not shooting much right now, and I really don't need it right away.

I walked in to my local Walmart a few days ago, and they had 3 boxes of American Eagle .223 for $7.97 each. Grabbed them and the only two boxes of 9MM luger they had. So Walmart is getting some shipments of ammo with good prices. The only reason I went inside was to see if they had ammo on the shelf. I was lucky.

You guys do know you can check stock at Walmart online don't you?

Some of us can't depend on that information the way things are today. Certainly not if they only showed 3 boxes in stock. I live 45 minutes from the nearest store.

But you are correct in that you can choose "your store" and check on line.

ya but dont believe it as the Truth

tried 2x at 3 wally worlds on Wed... all said they had some Remmington in stock... NONE did..

So tried my Luck again Yesterday Now they said they had American Eagle .223... Hit 1st wally... Nope no ammo... 2nd did have 10 boxes, was able to buy 3 as the shift change of cashiers, then got 3 more..... Didnt hit the 3rd wally wasnt worth the drive

My LGS had just sold out 2hrs earlier on some .223.... Dang the Luck... But is a good sign things are slowly coming available...

Now I also have some Midway 500rds Independance 5.56 landing wed.... But I also re-load so am Fine for Rounds.... Just grabbing some Good $$ ammo for more Brass..

hang in there guys... It's getting better

When I see in stock on the website I make a phone call, I hate going into wally world to start with so I don't want to waste time and gas running there for no reason.

Walmart's online information as far as ammo goes is useless at the time being.

Walmart online showed my local Wally World had 10 boxes of Federal bulk 22LR in stock.

I took my IPad with me, found the location on the shelve were the "in stock" ammo was normally displayed, found an employee and showed her the "in stock" status listed online, she then scanned the UPC code, it verified 10 in stock.

There was no ammo.

I had them get the sporting goods manager and then the store manager and explain the discrepancy.

The manager stated that they were scheduled to get the ammo, but it didn't come in. I asked if the system shows that it is in stock, but didnt come in, yet is still shown as in stock, why would they ever send more?

She then stated that none of the Walmarts in the area were getting any ammo at this time.

I stated that earlier in the day I had just missed purchasing ammo from a different Walmart. The gentlemen just in front of me purchased the last three boxes of the same ammo the system states you have in stock. I then showed her the 6 boxes of 223 ammo I had purchased only hours before at yet another Walmart. It had received a shipment of 800+ rounds of 223 alone the night before.

She seemed "shocked". I told her that they needed to look into the situation because obviously something in their system isn't working correctly. Stores around you are receiving ammo. Meanwhile you show it as in stock, and haven't receiving any more. Why would they send more, it shows you already have it!

I checked shortly after leaving that it had changed from in stock to out of stock on line.

I also noticed that the last time it had been updated prior to this was on the 21st.

Hopefully my assertiveness will help get things in this store corrected. Even small deliveries of ammo is better than none.

Ive done well with he walmart online status though but thankfully there are 3 stores close to me. The online availability has alot of times (at least for me) been fairly right in the fact that it would show availability but that necessarily didnt mean that the truck arrived yet or that the pallets werent sitting in back waiting for the nightly stockings.

I looked online and saw CCI ARtactical .22 available and .223 avail also...had a friend stop by early in the evening (none on shelf), then my gf at about 8pm (again none on shelf) but she said they were wheeling out pallets and carts all over the store for overnight stocking. Swung by 3 stores and scored at each and every one of them. As much .22 bulk as i could buy and also as much .223 also. Its just hit or miss though.

Key i believe is they are stocking after 8 or so in the evening with the rest of the department stockings. Its gone by the morning and actually within an hour here.

From my understanding at this time per the powers that be in the big house of Walmart: Walmart responds to ‘suspended ammo’ story and also here in the Ft. Campbell area I have witnessed it first hand that the shelfs are bare besides the few hunting rounds such as 7mm and shotgun rounds and the run of .22. When asking the clerk at two locations same story, as of right now we will not be selling any of the .223 rounds along with firearms such as the bushmaster until further notice. If you are looking for ammo probably such and such shop or the stores on post. Figured walk around and see whats in Sporting Good isles and what do you know even the Blackhawk brand access. for the AR are the older models and marked down to clear shelf space...

I believe you may have found a Store Manager who knows how to play the game. This person is probably extremely liberal and going to do what they can in their own little world to stand with the president. As long as they show it in stock, they wont get any. If they dont get any long enough they are going to stop even having the option to get any. and deet da deeeee the libs win. Stay the course and if it is not a problem keep watching, as soon as they believe you turned your back they will go back to playing the game.!

Well that's Wal-Mart's loss. The ammo will go to Cabela's, Midway, Cheaper Than Dirt, Natchez, etc. Wal-Mart got back into the gun biz big over the last couple of years after slowly backing out for most of the 2000's. Who would have thought Wal-Mart would be selling ARs? That's probably over for the foreseeable future.

It is very difficult to find anything right now. My Holy Grail at the moment is Kel-Tec PMR-30 magazines. Kel-Tec has always been horrible at meeting demand in normal times, now it's insane. Magazines that sold for $28 last fall are selling for $110 on Gunbroker. It's sad that a lot of sites I frequent expect me to get excited that they have AR LPKs for $100 (some were $30 just a couple months ago). Don't get me started on AR prices...

Thankfully I don't have an issue speaking my mind. This manager will get to know me very well. If the issue with this location not receiving ammo continues while others in the area do. I will work my way up the ladder until I get the answer I'm looking for.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Plus I bet the home office will not be happy when you mention that since the store manager is playing games you will be spending your money at another place since you normally spend another 50 bucks each trip on non firearm related items.

I have had good luck with the clerks at my Wally world when I stop or call in they tell me when the next shipment is due in.
