Here she is in all her Glory.....
Qual rail. Magpul furniture. Troy tritium rear folding sights. (Front tritium post STILL on backorder). Raptor charging handle. ProMag swivel sling adaptor. VTAC sling and last but not least....
ACOG TA31 RCOM4 optics
Sight glass is crystal clear. LOVE the reticle. Very pleased with the reticle choice. The triangular tip glows very nicely red in normal lighting conditions. Have yet to check in complete darkness. It will be very easy to quickly acquire a target and be accurate with this scope.
Comments on fixed A2 front sight...
To begin with this is a "both eyes open" scope. It will take a little getting used to since my other glass is "traditional". I noticed 2 things. In the glass you can see the front fixed A2 but its faint. It's also well below the BDC so it won't be a factor. From the non glass eye you can also clearly see the A2 offset to the right. Well out of the sight picture so again...just something to get used to. Here's a few pics.

Here she is in all her Glory.....
Well after checking the construction and bolting it on....yes! I'm sure I will love it based on the reticle and sight picture but time will tell as I get her on the range. Unfortunately our range only stretches 100 yards so no way for me to check the BDC functionality until I can get to a buddy's property. Oh! Forgot to mention that unlike the troys when you back the thumbscrews all the way out you hit a stop...and the whole rail adapter doesn't fall apart. Lol I know it looks great and that glowing red ^ is very cool!! :-D

Those weapons along with that AOCG are rated for all season. We need a report on how everything functions all seasons too.
What is the eye relief ?
Anyway,NICE SIGHT looks GREAT on your sporting rifle

Thank you sir. I'm 99+ % on a range visit Monday when I'm off work. So you very well may get that bad weather info! Lol
I was hoping for good weather as I'm loading my first rounds and wanted to compare my load to factory. Well at least as far as standing shooting goes. Might just have to load my sandbags for a few bench shots.

Eye relief is great. Rated at 1.5 I believe but I had no problems with slightly longer distances.

Congrats on your new optic.
It works very well with one eye closed too, as long as it isn't the one lined up right behind the ACOG.
I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. I've ran an ACOG now for several years on my OR and can't imagine it ever getting any better.

No I really didn't run around with my rifle but I did sit in the couch and aim around the house. Noticed 2 things.
1) I can see why in the manual they state get red on the target and fire. Close (<15 feet) distances the sight pictures from 2 open eyes kinda merge a bit. But then again from <15 feet you should be able to stand on your head shooting from the hip and hit something. lol
2) A good cheek weld is important with this scope especially in the dark. The cheek rest on my current buttstock is very narrow. I can see a possible future swap to one with a beefier cheek rest.
BUT. I'm gunna see what Monday brings first.

I was comparing those buttstocks last night. Do you shoot with a sling? If so does it get caught up on the cheek rest riser????

Yes (I shoot with and with out). I have 3 point slings. On all 4 of my Sporting Rifles,I have them all set up for 2 point or single point slings. I have yet to have any problems with my cheek risers getting caught. But never say never. Murphy is alive and well and S does happen. Two point carry I usually carry with the cheek riser down when just transporting. Single point I leave the cheek riser up and it's never snagged on my Tac. vest or sling in competition shoots. Some of the time my Sporting rifles get transported in their cases to the range and bench fired. Bench fire I don't use a sling like some (arm rap-around) shooters do.

And just for a heads up. You DO have to be carefull with the cheek riser if you have the butt slid in and pull the charging handle out to charge your weapon. It will snag the end of the riser. That is a rarity though,I always extend the stock as soon as I grab the weapon out of it's case. Just a heads up

Thanks for pointing that out Max. Because my girl shoots too the buttstock is in collapsed position for her. That might cause her some difficulties.

Gotta try the little XS offsets. Just a little twist o' the rifle, and you have close-range sights on target. C'mon, Zip. It's only money.

I am very happy with the Doublestar TI-7 stock. Beefy cheek weld without being cumbersome, and at a great price on Amazon (Midway also).

Question sir. Is the cheek weld area ambidextrous? I practice weak side so that's important to me. Can't tell by the pics on midway. If so that's about what I'm looking for. Any thoughts on fit?? One guy said it was way too tight. Did you go with mil spec??

Thanks Shinny and zotzer for the heads up on the Ti7 buttstock. Can't get it yet but it's on the list for sure.
Wish list
- Elzetta tactical light
- quality "drop in" trigger
- H2 or ar-restor buffer
Then I really do think she's done unless a BCG upgrade is needed? Don't know enough about it to say.......

All the way in ? I can charge with it all the way in if the riser is down and I slightly pull up on the charging handle. I'll have to do a double check to see what trouble you could have. I know you won't be grabbing one right away,so Monday while your test firing I'll do some hard checking with it. I'd hate to see you spend the money and it not being 100% good to go.

If you are talking GL-Shock it is ambi. all the way and mil spec. Fits like a glove.

The one I was asking about is the Ti7. Now get this.... Looking around tonight I pulled up the Ti7 and the LMT sopmod. Ask my girl which she liked....
......the LMT sopmod. Then I showed her the price difference.
......she still said the LMT! **scratches head**

Here she is in all her Glory.....
The GLstock looks awesome. I like the riser option. If it were JUST for me I could lean this way. Since my girl requires a collapsed stock position I'm worried about the charging handle and the riser making contact. UGH! Decisions!!! I'm taking my time on this one. Went with the magpul moe not thinking about cheek weld when she was scoped!

I think you will like them. I like the fit and feel.

Nice looking rifle Zip, glad you got it most of the way done, looking forward to seeing what else you decide to change!

Won't be a whole lot of visible change. I know the buttstock will probably go and MAYBE add that Elzetta.
The rest will be internals. Trigger, BCG, buffer.....
Need to learn a WHOLE lot more about those choices first.
