Not really much of a conversion...as many of you know, the only thing you have to do with 300 Blackout is change the barrel. I went ahead and built a whole new upper anyhow for ease of switching back and forth.

My barrel and stripped upper came from SOTA Arms and they make a great product at a very good price. Be prepared to wait but if your patient you will be well rewarded. I'm also using the Hogue Overmolded Carbine length freefloat handguard. Love that thing and highly recommend that as well, very grippy, very light and attaches pretty easy.

Have not gotten much change to shoot it, only just the first outing so far mainly due to how cold it's been here. While the recoil is noticeable to be sure, it's really not that much different than .223/5.56. Here is a quick video of my first shoot of it.

Here are some pics of the finished product. Muzzle break and stock have been pinned (I'm in NYS) and the mag is pre-ban and may have to be leaving soon depending on a court decision in April, we have our fingers crossed up here.

.300 BLK looking sexy as usual. I will say, ever since i built mine. i rarely ever shoot my 5.56 anymore. I just enjoy learning more about the .300 and how it works for distance as well as CQB. I have mine dialed in around 200yards. I've taken my first coyote with it last weekend or so at about 130ish with a 125gr.

So far i cant complain for what i built it for hog. It gives hogs/coyotes/bobcats/ and deer hell.
