Default Anyone else gone back to black?

Has anybody else had the Magpul/Troy/Midwest/Insert cool name here furniture on their rifle and for whatever reason gone back to factory?

I just did with my sport. Had the full-on MOE treatment, but after installing my latest optic (Nikon P223) I decided to try putting the factory furniture back on just to see how it looks.

I kind of like it stock. Rocking the old-school Colt 20rd mag too, just to complete the look. (And if you've ever tried to bench an AR with a 30rd when zeroing a scope, you know the deal.)

What I think I've found is that while that stuff looks great on the rifle, the limited color options in quality optics just look better with black gear.

What say you?

After all these years, it still is black, just like the day I bought it.

Yup. I went back to a KISS setup. Irons only, OEM 15-Sport handguards.

I like the stock handguards, but they just get too darned hot!

I did keep the Magpul grip, but other than that and the scope, stock as a rock and what a great shooting rifle.

No batteries for me either. In the past I've had an Aimpoint, but I found myself thinking..."If I'm squinting through a tube, why don't I just get a decent scope and quit farting around with this red-dot stuff?"

So I got the fixed power 3x32.

The good: It came with free P series Nikon mounts!
The bad: They aren't available yet, so some cheap UTG's for now will have to do.

I keep the rear Magpul MBUS in the range bag just in case, but the older I get, the more I appreciate glass.

The factory stock has a great sling point already on it too, so the BFG Vickers I have coming should be the last piece of the puzzle.

...for now.

I've never left black. I don't change anything on a gun unless I see some value to me to do so. Most aftermarket parts are heavier than stock and since I don't do tactical I stay with OEM.

I own an early M&P 15T with all the Troy furniture, never saw a reason to change what looked good to start with.

Kept mine all black, after going back and forth with a two color option.

Love it, glad I didn't change anything....although the gold triggers look cool!

. NOW you have me hearing AC/DC Back in Black every time I look in may gun safe. Wonder if I can make my gun safe play that every time I open the door like those little boxes with the little Ballerina Doll ?

...some day,my wife is going to kill me.
