Hey all... well I finally did it. I got my first evil black rifle. :D

Here's a picture from Quantico. Haven't had time to snap one of my own yet. Just picked it up last night.

Any who... I really like the DTOM engraving on the lower. And it makes the rifle a little unique (not something you can just go to the store and find). I like the description Ben Franklin gave of the rattle snake below from Wikipedia.

In December 1775, Benjamin Franklin published an essay in the Pennsylvania Journal under the pseudonym American Guesser in which he suggested that the rattlesnake was a good symbol for the American spirit:

"I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids—She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.—She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.—As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:—Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of stepping on her.—Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?"

Thanks for letting me share!

It's an 811020 with the DTOM engraving!

It is a carbine with chromed barrel bore, gas key, bolt carrier, and chamber.

Luckily i was able to trade some .22lr for 305 rnds of brass AE .223 @ .37/rnd and ordered another 200 rnds of WWB .223 from Cabelas though at a higher price of .60/rnd.

Thanks! It's really sharp looking. By chance is it cheaper than the Tactical model (811024)? Or more expensive? These are the two models I have found that include barrel bore/gas key/bolt carrier, & chamber in the chrome finish/lining.

I paid $1149 plus $25 shipping.

Still have some in stock here.

Appreciate the link!!! Wish they had some in the FDE finish, but a deal none the less! Waiting on a little more research and comparison to the Colt LE AR-15, but I have always appreciated a good S&W. It's tough, but a model like yours makes it a little more easy to run with a S&W!
