I had a magpul pistol grip on my Sport, it was alright but I had had a last Samco G27 on my other Sport and really liked it. After a couple of months of reading reviews and kicking it around I purchased the UTG Combat Sniper pistol grip. Fits my hand perfect and looks great on my rifle. Because of the fixed trigger guard I had to remove a little bit of material in the grip, took less than a minute with my dremel and fits the rifle and me perfectly...Here are the pics:

Very nice! I have also been flirting with the idea of the UTG, but wasn't sure of a few things. Does this grip come with the two holes for your safety selector spring, and the rear take down detent spring? Or, was it more custom work with the dremel? Looks great man! Kind regards.

it comes with one hole for the safety detent spring, the rear take down detent spring comes in from the rear it is trapped by the plate that is in front of the buffer tube castle nut. Seriously less than a minute with a dremel. When I install a pistol grip, I try fitting it before I put the spring in. Some of the reviews said the the hole for the safety detent spring said that it was a little deep and to wad up a little paper or plastic and stuff it into the hole. Mine was not to deep, it was perfect. The sliding cover for the bottom fits snugly and holds 2 of the CR123 batteries perfectly. I have them in a small baggie that some other parts came in to keep them from rattling. I did the same thing with my Magpul that I took off. For $17 I am really happy :D

Thanks for the knowledge One eye!

it really does seem to align the pad of my finger with the trigger, I am getting a major range trip this weekend instead of just going out to someones pasture so I will really get to check it out, plus I get to shoot my first M&P15T (I hope) or at least look at one. I am going with another member of the forum and his wife. I even got some real NRA chamber flags. Its the first time I will have taken my Sport off of the farm!!

I have one on my Sport, and just put one on my 15-22 . Really like the fit and feel. The material seems to be comfortable regardless of temp - I live in MN so it has seen hot and humid and downright cold! Seems to work very well both with and without gloves also. It seems a little bigger/thicker than the stock grip, so may not be the best choice for people with small hands. Love the way they work for me though - highly recommended!

Hey there oneyeopn, sweet lookn grip! May I ask where you purchased it from? I would like to add one like that to my next build.;)

Sorry I have been out of town over the weekend...went shooting at an extremely cool shooting range (Thanks again G Farmer). I picked it up on Amazon. I hope I didnt break any rules by saying that...

Oneyeopn -good looking grips. I just purchased an M&P 15 ORC and would like to change out that handle. The bolt(screw) holding the handle on is strange looking. How did you take the factory handle off ?

its a 3/16" allen wrench, I used one from a cheap old Winchester rifle screwdriver with replaceable tips. I got it from Wally world and used it for a couple of years. I have replaced the set with a Lyman screwdriver set but the Winchester set worked well for me....when you drop the old handle make sure you catch the safety retaining spring and pin. They are on the upper right of the pistol grip pointing up into the lower receiver. I also had to stuff a tiny bit of paper into the pistol grip hole that holds the spring to make it tighter.

Oh by the way I do have smaller hands and it is still very comfortable. I also just installed a BlackHawk offset safety selector, works great and very comfortable

Hope it works for you... But UTG gear ain't really for real guns.

UTG is an airsoft brand that just happens to fit real guns.

This is not advertised as an Airsoft piece. Have you really looked at pistol grips and read reviews. Have you seriously looked at military pistol grips or factory ones....hahahaha:rolleyes:
you are allowed your opinion. this is better made than the original or the Magpul MOE (not pts) that I took off of it. I have no doubt that I will get good service out of it. :D

Thanks, Really appreciate the timely comeback. Never use3d a Winchester screwdriver but I bet Wally World will still have them. As for the spring, I read somewhere that someone used a piece of clothes hanger that was cut off.

It is a set specifically made for firearms. It was in the gun section but any longer allen wrench will do. As far as regular screwdrivers, gunsmithing screw drivers are ground different than regular screwdrivers and are less likely to bark the screw heads.

That looks AWESOME! I have a similar grip on mine but doesnt have that rear palm swell in it. nice and tacky.

Now, get some polish on that hood, or else I think it is a goner.
